🏠 About Our Home
Providing a safe haven and a family for boys in Nairobi since 2000.
Fountain of Life is a residential care facility dedicated to providing safe, nurturing, and supportive environments for children in need. We offer comprehensive care including education, counseling, and life skills training to help children thrive.
Our work began in 2000, we have been serving vulnerable children for over two decades. We have helped hundreds of boys transform their lives and build brighter futures through consistent care.
Our mission is to provide holistic care that restores dignity and hope to orphaned and vulnerable children, empowering them to become responsible and productive members of society.
We currently provide a home for 40 boys, ensuring each child receives personalized attention and a comfortable living space.
📝 Admissions & Eligibility
Our process ensures the most vulnerable children receive the care they need.
We serve boys from infancy through young adulthood (ages 0-21). Our programs are tailored to meet developmental needs from early childhood to independent living.
Required documentation includes a birth certificate, medical records, school reports, and a formal Committal Order from a recognized legal authority.
Yes, while we are located in Nairobi, we accept referrals from across Kenya provided the legal transfer and admission criteria are met.
We primarily handle cases of neglect or abandonment. Voluntary placement requires a thorough assessment by a social worker to determine if it is in the best interest of the child.
📚 Our Programs & Care
Empowering our boys through quality education, spiritual growth, and emotional support.
We ensure every child is enrolled in a local school that fits their academic level. Our support includes providing full tuition, school uniforms, textbooks, and stationery. We also host after-school tutoring sessions at the home to help boys who may have gaps in their learning due to past circumstances.
Yes. Many of our boys have experienced significant trauma. We provide trauma-informed counseling through professional social workers and visiting psychologists. These sessions help children process their past, build emotional resilience, and develop healthy coping mechanisms for a brighter future.
We believe in nurturing talents beyond the classroom. Our boys participate in football (soccer) tournaments, music and drama workshops, and art classes. These activities promote physical health, teamwork, and self-confidence, often uncovering unique gifts in the children.
Fountain of Life provides a foundation of faith-based values. We hold regular morning and evening devotions, and the boys attend local church services on Sundays. We focus on teaching moral uprightness, forgiveness, and the importance of serving others in the community.
Our Transition & Exit Program targets boys aged 16-21. We provide vocational training in fields like ICT, carpentry, and agriculture. Additionally, we teach essential life skills such as financial literacy (budgeting/saving), cooking, and job hunting to ensure they can thrive once they leave the home.
🤝 Visiting & Volunteering
Visitors are welcome on Saturdays and Sundays between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Please schedule via our Contact page.
Yes, to ensure the safety of our boys, all regular volunteers must provide a valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the DCI.
We encourage communal gifts (like board games or sports equipment) rather than individual gifts to ensure all boys feel equally loved.
We especially need mentors in ICT, Mathematics, Football coaching, and vocational skills like carpentry or tailoring.
Yes, we host Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) groups for "Fun Days" or renovation projects. Please book at least two weeks in advance.
